A maybug, wandering around the garden in broad daylight in July. I think it's a female so maybe looking for somewhere to lay? It was poking around trying to burrow into the pebbles, then made a short hop onto the path, then flew off. I'm annoyed I clipped the wing but the 2 frames after this are of 'the empty space where a maybug was'.....................

but you don't want them laying eggs in your grass, the lava will eat the roots and leave nasty brown patches. :(

I know, but it was last seen heading for the back garden where there isn't any grass. As my partner keeps telling me 'when you invite wildlife into your garden (it had a complete wildlife-friendly makeover) you can't control what you get, or what it does............'

I have a semi "wild" garden too, but when the aphids ( protected by the ants) started to destroy my Bonsai's
Well ... as you may remember I'm a pestie ... :D
