I have been reading and researching for weeks on what camera to buy ( I have a fuji S9600 at the moment ) and I finally decided on this

nikon-d902.jpg

I am VERY happy with it so far and find it intuitive and easy to use and it produced excellent shots

I have also bought the Tamron AF 70-300 lens, so look forward to that coming

Now I need a flash

Great camera. If you haven't already done so can I suggest you take the time to check out the D90 owners thread. Might pick up some good tips for settings/info.

Nice purchase .I just got a 7d last week :D:D

Ahh ... show off

Thanks I will do that

Next week I'll be picking up a Nissin Di622, check it out

Excellent, thank you. I see those are a LOT cheaper than what I was looking at. Are they as good as stuff like the SB-600 etc. I know little about these flashes, flashes I used before were just cheap ones. I have a Sunpak which I know is low voltage but I dare not use it

:clap:Its a great camera and highly capable, you will love it!

Thanks, so far I am loving it  :D

the only real disadvantage over a SB-600 is no CLS (creative lighting system)..basically you can take the SB-600 off the camera, place it where you like, then trigger it remotely from the D90. A useful feature if you want to get creative with your flashing (ey ey ;)) but to me..it's £100 extra and as it's my first flash, a learning flash if you will, so I'd rather save the £100 for something else for now and get used to using the external flash 'on-board' and if I need off camera stuff later I can upgrade then

welcome to the DARK SIDE enjoy your new toy and lets see some images from it
Dave

I would check any third party flash is compatible before you attach it and blow half the circuitry on your D90.

The SB600 is a decent enough unit, that can be triggered remotely by your D90's onboard flash.
