Just ordered a new Sigma

...from OneStopDigital a brand spanking new 150-500 f5-f6.3 DG OS HSM APO Lens for this coming spring, cant wait.
It was a toss up between that and the Sigma 120-400.

Thanks Scott, it's 60g heavier which isn't too bad but only one f stop difference at the short end with the same f6.3 @ 500mm. with both being OS what's likely to be the main advantage over the older 150-500 ?

well the older 50-500mm was sharper through the range than the 150-500mm so it should be better, i find my 150-500mm needs top light and to be stopped down to f8 or f10.

If the new 50-500 is say £100-150 more than the current 150-500, i think i'd have stuck with my original purchase, be interesting to find out.

i would wait on, dont get me wrong the 150-500mm is great value and can produce super images , but if the older siggy 170-500mm had os built in give me one of them anyday it knocked the pants of the 150-500mm,
