This morning I spent a wonderful (if a little damp) hour laid on the wet sand and seaweed of my local beach photographing, and just enjoying, the spectacle of 40 or so return passage Dunlin. It always feels like such a privilege to get so close to these wildest of creatures without being stuck in a hide.

What a beautiful shot! I wonder if they frequent our bit of coast too?

cracking shot you have there,I like the angle, worth getting wet for.

Very nice! I think the other bird is a slight distraction though. :)

D'you know, I did do a version without the background bird but didn't like it. I prefer it with it in the shot as it shows that there was more than one bird - they are a flocking species after all - and in a very subtle way.
I disagree that it is a distraction, but thanks for the comment.

Very nice, and worth the damp pants :)

Is it me or is the water not level?

Decent shot all the same Chris....(y)

Well worth the wait and dedication Chris, I like that a lot, in fact, both shots (y)

I went back this evening whilst the light was so nice and concentrated hard on getting this one for the "isolationist" amongst us ;)

Wasted your time because that is crap.................;)
