Keep 85mm f1.8 or not?

Hi All

I'm after some advice. My kit bag:

- 5D
- Tamron 28-75 2.8
- Canon 70-200 2.8
- Canon 85mm 1.8
- Cheap Jessops flash.

Since buying the Tamron lens, I've not used the 85mm at all. Sure it's optically far superior and of course faster, but the zoom is basically 'good enough' (and close enough) for my needs and highly convenient.

That said most of my best photos have been with the 85mm, although I only got the Tamron about 3 months ago.

So here is the question - keep the 85mm lens, or flog it and get a better flash?

Cheers!

Keep it, if it still hasn't come out of the bag in 6 months time (once the new toy gloss has worn off your tamron) and you are happy with you pics then get rid of it and upgrade the flash.

I sold my 85mm at the beginning of this year, a mistake IMO, bought a replacement last week :D

sell the 85mm to me! im sure the photos i take with it will make your ones with the tamron look awesome!

I was using my 85mm F1.8 this weekend. Some of the shots it takes are just magical. Having owned the Tammy 28-75, whilst I understand your views on flexibility, I do wonder whether you've really looked at the results of each side by side.

As per Kipax - keep it.
