The TP52 - 2026 Kell’s 52 for 26. Wk 35 Snappers Choice

Nice one Kell :)

I had to look up the camera, never heard of an "Honor". Very good subject, lighting, timing.

Cultural elements
Very bright and vibrant

Nostalgia
I like that it's a wide shot (well, a task shot really), I looked so of the space above the sign.

Week 35 - Snapper's Choice

Minolta SR-7 + Minolta ARII 55/1.8 + Ilford XP2

One of my favourite cars - Citroen Traction Avant. It actually looks a bit better here in B&W than it does in real life as it's very tatty and has bright yellow wheels. This is just one of many Citroens parked along here, which I'm told all belong to the one guy. He must have about 6 though, and I've no idea how he;'s managed to get parking permits for them all.

Some of you will recognise this street (Roupell Street, Waterloo, London) because you know the location and others will find it familiar as it's often used as a location for films and TV. With everything from Bond to Dr Who being filmed here.

Cars first launched in 1934 (Traction Avant), 1955 (DS) and 1970 (SM) shot on a camera first launched in 1959 (Minolta SR-7) and a lens from 1961 (Minolta ARII 55/1.8) and film first launched in 1980 (Ilford XP2).

There's nothing in this image that I can see, that would suggest it's a photo from 2026.
I really quite like it.

Nice vintage feel to three fugly Cirtoens :)

How very dare you...

What I find most incredible about these particular cars is that the DS was a direct replacement for the Traction Avant. They don't just feel like they're from different decades, but different centuries.

Great scene, had a look on Google maps and the cars are there. Remember horse racing being filmed from Citroens as their suspension gave a stable platform to film from.

I remember that - hydro-pneumatic suspension on a big old CX IIRC.

The oldest date I can find on Google maps is 2017 and the DS and SM are on that.

Ah, Roupell Street.
Of those 3, the oldest car is the newest of his collection.

When I started working up there he had the DS Estate (It almost always had a wheelbarrow on the roof) and the DS saloon.
I'm pretty sure the SM came next and then a BX. The Avant arrived in the past year or two.

I think he also has a BMW motorbike.
