Ok, I know this subject will have been done to death so I will narrow it down a tad.

I have written off Lowpro, been in the shop, had a look and not fussy. Same for Crumpler and Kata.

The bag I am after will have some good space for day walking kit, my Camera kit comprises of D90, 18-105, 55-200 and a nifty 50 and I am currently looking at the NatGeo medium Backpack.

My questions are has anyone owned one of these? Seen one of these in the flesh? got mates who have one? etc, etc.

Cheers

Don't mean to hijack your thread but i'm very interested in this too. I'm after pretty much the same thing. Need space for camera gear but also need a decent amount of space for while i'm out walking. The obvious solution is to get the missus to carry a bag too but she's not too keen on that!

I've looked at the NatGeo medium but not in the flesh and the large, but the large seems just to have more room for camera gear. I've also noticed they've got a new version out now (blue) not too sure on the difference.

No worries.

This bag has really caught my eye but I cant find a local stockist to go have a look at one.

I have enough of a job getting the Mrs to carry the car keys!

Take a look at ThinkTank's range, I've got 2 of their bags and find them fantastic.

Cheers James but its the NatGeo bag I am particularly interested in.

Its seems like no one has ever seen one though!

Thanks Wookie but the one I am looking at isn't listed.

I appreciate you taking the time though, cheers.

they list the 5162 on cambags, I guess you must be looking at the 5070 which I found on warehouse express

they look like they are similar construction and the same size, with fabric and pocket changes, so the cambags review should be indicative of the camera space.

but thinking about the outside dimensions of it at 18cm x 30cm x 42 cm thats only 22 litres, its not a big rucksack, fill it half full of camera gear and the space left for walking gear is minimal

Cheers Wookie.

I managed to find the manufacturers website http://www.ea-bags.com/ The medium one (22L) is fine for my needs I don't have an enormous amount of camera kit and will only use the bag whilst day hiking so I don't need to carry loads.

I currently carry a Tamrac system2 bag and a Berghaus 25L day sack with the day sack nearly always half empty. Its a pain carrying the two bags.

For me, the Lowpro/crumpler/kata et al were not of the quality I wanted having looked at them and handled them yet obviously, I still have a limited budget.

I have ordered the Nat Geo (well the wife has for my Birthday) so when it arrives I will do a bit of a review if anyone is interested.
