Being mainly a B&W film user, I'm not familiar with this particular film.

I'm off to sunny Malta and I wondered if this would be a good one to take with me.

Choosing a camera is simple but choosing a film .........

I've also got a bucket load of Portra 160

It has nice blues and reds.

Skin tones get pretty wild if you're photographing white/lighter skin tones, i.e they start looking a little sunburnt/lobster like. Darker skin tones look good. You can always counter that by adding a little cyan in post though.

Still prefer Portra over it, but that's because I like having a somewhat neutral base to work from when printing or scanning.

Agree with both the above. Ektar has specific uses for me (low contrast/dynamic range scenes, no people, bright colours) whereas Portra is a much better all-rounder.

Take the 160 and maybe one roll of Ektar. That's what I'd do.

I like Ektar because it's as close as I can get to Velvia regarding colour saturation.
But like others have said, Portra is probably better when people are involved.
