I've got a kood ND4 filter and it seems to be of a reasonable quality for its price...but then again I've got no experience of others.

i'm going to get a UV filter to protect my lenses and wondered I was doing an injustice by fitting a Kood?

Dunno about the UV but I've got some Kood ND grads and some HiTech ND grads and I'd say the quality was comparable. The Kood stuff seems to be pretty good value for money.

I used Kood UV filters when I had my 35mm 1.4L and 135mm 2L, they were just as sharp, had no problems with them being cheap :)

I've got a Kood CPL and it seems reasonable.
What lens are you planning on putting the UV filter on? If it's the kit lens I'd not bother. You'll end up spending almost as much on the filter as the lens is worth if you want a good one.
