La Florida

Toni it is worth viewing large on Flickr I must say. The tonal change from left to right is interesting as is the raking light.
Nice shot and I agree with Steve about the desolation.

Thank you Steve and Alf. This was one of those places you drive through and really feel an emotion that you want to express.

I'd never been to Fuerteventura before, and first impressions weren't great, but as time progressed I saw more and more places that made me want to stop the car and take a picture. I think it would be a really easy place to run a week long photographic tour, with the most amazing rippling mountains (almost plush and quilted looking in some lights, in others looking like elephants feet) ruins all over the place, dunes, beaches, rocks and waves. We were 'lucky' too, with sunrise around 7.40 and sunset about 6.30 - this was taken around 6.20 IIRC. I'd have liked to be in some prime location for sunrise and sunset every day we were there, but this was a holiday, and pushing luck wasn't cool. :p
