i got a d300 yesterday (second hand off here) and popped outside with my 50mm f1.8 and a £4 extension tube to try it out, got a bunch of this rather cool ladybird at iso 1000. the extension tubes mean metering is guesswork and focusing is done by moving the camera back and forward.
am incredibly impressed with the camera, especially the high iso performance. but yeah, this shot was taken within an hour of getting the camera, quite pleased with it. straight from camera and resized, no edits. (although processed on uncalibrated macbook so it may look a little darker than it should)
