Hiya Dave,

Wow that is a lovely photo of the ladybird, lovely colours and nice and sharp too.

Sounds like you had a great day out.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Agree with Dawn. Lovely colours and clarity. Nice composition too :)

Cheers very much Ian

Thanks very much Dawn

Gary had never been before and was overjoyed with the whole place, as were you when you first went Dawn, we only covered a small amount of the reserve, from the visitor centre to the weir then on to primrose hill, we had a fascinating time watching the ladybirds and baby frogs,

Gary loved the weir, where I gave him a masterclass in composition. Im looking forward to seeing his resulting shots, All in all a very pleasant afternoon out

I really like the pose because you can see her face so well - I think they are quite cute really!

I just love this ladybird , it looks like its going to jump right off the screen , Brill.:)

Lovely shot Dave. The colours are stunning. Really does like it's going to fly out at me.

Very nice Dave, the focus is spot on, great DoF, and wonderful colours...that about sums it up, I guess this is a demonstration of just how wonderful the 105 macro is :D

What you mean it's not all the camera........so even if I buy a 1DIV and a bag of L Lens I'll still take rubbish photos :( :dummy:

That's a great shot Dave, I am trying to get a good one for my daughters room.

Is that cropped or is that the difference in using a dedicated macro lens.

Thanks Sam pleased you like it (y)

Its a smallish crop, yes I suppose it is because you can get closer working distance, and fill the frame with a macro lens, even more with tubes on

Cracking shot Dave. Well worth scrabbling around on your Knees, and all the bites

Thanks Gary Aye we had fun and a laugh watching the ladybirds, doing its acrobatic tightrope walk, it was good to meet you, look forward to next time (y)

Sam, there are loads of Ladybirds about at the moment, so you shouldn't struggle.

Dave - great shot.
These little creatures are very good at posing, I had one wondering in front of me for ages while I drank my cider on a picnic matt with the lens in it's face!
I managed to catch a shot of it just before take off, it reminded me of a Transformer the way the wings folded out!
