Go on then I'll go first. Great meet chaps and already looking forward to the next ;) Anyway here are a few of my efforts. Looking forward to seeing what you lot have done.

Really great set Alby:clap: I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Lakeside...........my first outing with my new ring-flash. I learned some useful things: I need to figure out how to add some sort of diffuser to the flash. I need to improve my handholding technique. I need to remember not to leave my ISO at 400 from the previous day:bang:

It was good to meet you all. I haven't looked at my own shots yet but somehow I doubt that I'll have anything close to that sort of standard. I found it much more difficult than I had in bright sunlight at the weekend. I think a flash will be required!
 
Yes Luke. All taken as nature intended. Apart from the one of Jim. Had to chill him in the freezer for a bit to slow him down.

In that case the are ALL absolutely incredible, the fact that you all have even spotted these creatures is amazing.
 
It was 100% natural Luke, though there was a bit of artificial placement going on, most of it was done like this

My attempts at snapping fly swarms very nearly worked out, a bit more luck and this could have been good. I tried focussing on the swarm in the hope one would be spot on

Had I realised this last one was a self portrait I would have concentrated on focussing on the eye.

I thought someone was going to suggest I looked like some kind of giant fly or something that had come in to land :LOL:
 
Some great stuff going on there. Let us know if you plan to do another Lakeside in the near future and I'll do my best to get to it. :)

This is a normal size bench and we have to shrink down for the Macro meets and the way we do it is top secret :LOL:

Yes, very good keith.

It was good, but it made me realise the limitations of the way I've approached it gear wise, and I might get demotivated before I get to spend any dosh on new gear.

I need a lens and a flash I think, I like the idea of the marumi flash as a way in but I don't think I could use that with my current lens set up. I do have a cheap flash, I could try rigging a bracket to get it to the end of the 200.

(y) Just caught up on the meet guy’s some great shoots by everyone looks like you all had a great time, looking at the shots I think I’m glad I couldn’t make it lol.
