Hey everyone,
I'm sure there are a lot of you who knows their stuff when it comes to laptops/computers.
I am looking to buy a laptop which is handier than a pc.
As you all know I would need a lot of memory space for all the photos etc.
could anyone recommend me what laptop to go for? I don't want to be spending huge amounts of money.
Any recommendations welcome.
Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco,

Have a look at the Dell outlet, you can pickup a decent one on there. With regards to hd space, do you have an external drive? Also do you back up your photos? It might be worth going for a laptop with a lot of RAM if you use Light room or photo shop and getting a couple of external HDs for backup.

Hi kev,
I don't have an external hd, but I will be getting one to back all my photos up as at the moment my photos are on my girlfriends dads laptop.
If I don't manage to find a laptop with incorporated pp software I shall have to decide between light room and ps. At the moment I'm using ps.

I have not seen any that come with either especially PS as that is very expensive.

What is you budget?

My gfs dads laptop came with photoshop elements 8 which I found wierd aswell, he couldn't have installed it as he had no idea what it is. So I can't even install it on a new laptop.

Does he have the original disc or license for PS Elements if so it can be installed on a second PC.

He doesn't have a disc, I only found it on his laptop randomly, he didn't even know it was on there.

Could someone also let me know how much memory space/RAM I should be looking for on a laptop?

If you are looking for a decent backup external drive you could try a NAS device. I use a Synology DS211.

As for a laptop, i would keep an eye on the Dell outlet - they update their stock each weekday around 14:20 UK time. They have some great 17 inch XPS machines with SSD and plenty of RAM.
