I have some location shoots coming up that will involve shooting in tough environments - forest, beach etc. I want to shoot tethered to a MacBook Pro.

I need something to keep the MBP a bit protected and to shield the screen. Obvious candidate is a small Peli (maybe a 1490 or a 1090) and then rig something out of correx and tape as a shade. Another (much cheaper) option seems to be this http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/RM1905B/

1. Anybody using either of these? Especially the Seaport
2. How tough is the Seaport?
3. Any other options I should know about?

I have a 15 inch MBP and need to shoot USB and / or Firewire so I need the ports available. Luckily I have the matt screen ;)

obvious choice for me would be the peli 1490 and just lift the laptop out of the foam slightly to access the ports and open up the vents to prevent overheating when you want to use it..

Yeah that sounds about right.

I'm just concerned by
1. The weight of the 1490
2. The fact it has no sun shade
3. The foam possibly causing overheating
4. 200 quid!!!!! for yet another bag ;)

I wondered if anybody had any actual experiences that could convince me that they were worth it ;)

Chase Jarvis loves them but
1. They are less than half the price in the US
2. They moved the ports on the MBP to the left - his are on the right in his video.
