After a general use laptop, something with a decent spec that can run CS5 comfortably, itunes, etc etc etc...

Best I've found so far for the money, any other options you can think of? I'd ideally want a HP for the aesthetics, but cant find a similarly priced model with a spec equal to this. (yes its PC world but it's the cheapest around for this model)

An i5 and 4gb should be ok. I would alway recommend getting the best CPU and most memory you can afford. It might be worth checking the max memory incase you want to add more later to prolong the life of the laptop.
 
I agree, at least an i5 processor and 4Gb of ram, also a dedicated Graphics card would be good opposed to just an integrated one - but that may push the price up...
Have you looked at Dell, they have some good deals also have an 'Outlet' site - refurbished PCs with 1yrs warranty

The basics compared to the Acer at PCW:

The Acer has an Intel i5-450M whereas the HP has an AMD Phenom II Quad-Core N930. The i5 will most certainly be faster with the majority if not all single threaded applications but the Phenom should pull ahead with applications using all available cores ie CS5.

The Acer has 4gb RAM whereas the HP has 6gb.

The Acer has a 5400rpm 500gb hard drive whereas the HP has a 7200rpm 500gb drive. There is a def speed improvement to be seen there.

The Acer uses the Intel HD graphics which whilst adequate for anything other than gaming, will use a portion of the system RAM. The HP has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 with 512MB Dedicated DDR3 RAM. Whilst this isn't the best of graphics chips, it is certainly another improvement.

And of course it's also a HP :p
