Hi,

I am looking at buying a laptop and retiring my desktop due to space issues etc. I have a budget of around £400 - £450 and need advice as to whats good and what to avoid.

I have seen an advert on Comet for a Toshiba one priced at £349 that is 3gb memory etc.

I have a seperate 350gb hard drive that I will be keeping but the laptop must be capable of handling CS4 Suite and Lightroom etc etc.

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm typing on a Toshiba Lappy right now! Think it's a Satellite A200! Mine has 2gb so that 3gb would be a bonus!

Runs Lightroom 2 and PS CS3 Fine.

I'm sure there are faster machines out there but for the price I paid I'm not grumbling!

If I pass my upcoming exams at work I should get £2k tax free which will hopefully see me grab a Macbook pro of some description ;)

The one I have seen is this one...

TOSHIBA SATE P300D

17" Screen
AMD Turion x2 Dual Core
3072mb RAM
200gb HD

I would personally try to get a core2duo cpu over a turion x2 but other than that you can't go wrong

also something to check is the screen resoultion, 17" should get you 1280xsomething but some laptops are pretty crap and some have up to 1920x...

I would also agree with resloution being pretty important. The more memory the better, dual core if you can. :)
