Laser Beam

I've taken this photo recently, nothing special but i just thought it was something different. The picture is a Laser beam cutting through a piece of plywood. Comments welcome, thanks for looking

I've looked at this several time and keep wondering if something is actually on fire?

There are all sorts of gaurds round the machine, but I think a lower shot under the board with more firery smoke would give more impact.
May be a shot through the slot, so that you could see the beam?

Of course if you are in with the operator/programmer they could have been cutting "Mark936" out

Hi guys, there was actually a fire!. I didn't initially intend for the fire but it added nicely to the photo. I set the machine to run really slowly so that i could get the shot but with the concentrated heat on the scrap in the bed and the rush of oxygen coming in it caught alight very quickly. The build up of heat was amazingly quick, had to wait half an hour to convince myself i'd removed the heat well enough!
Its an invisible CO2 beam that you cant see until it cuts something so i'll have to see if i can do something else with smoke.
