Here are two photos i took tonight of the same leaf with different lighting , i have done no editing at all , please let me know you think and how i can improve on them

Were they shot in RAW? I'm not sure about the editing side of things but the first shot looks fantastic I love the effect. Quite an interesting subject if you know how to shoot it...

No they was shot in Jpeg , im still very new to all this ,so was chuffed when they came out so well

I much prefer the lighting in the first as it's given it real texture and depth - the second image looks much flatter in comparison.
