Lee filter adapters - cheapest/alternatives?

I have a Lee digital filter kit on the way and will start will a 77mm wide adapter ring. However, as I have several lenses of varying size threads has anyone found any cheaper alternative adapters that work? For what I would guess is a metal ring, £25-£45 for these adapter rings seems a bit ridiculous.

I thought some enterprising person would discover Cokin/Hi-tech or some cheaper system worked! I know the lee filters and holder are meant to be worth it though.

Totally agree the WA adapters are stupid money. There must be a Chinese factory producing these?
