Does anyone know if you can get lens caps for this lens or has anyone come across anything that fits? The standard leather hood is a pain when carrying it in a bag. I now that the mkII has a neoprene cover but don't want to spend that sort of money.

Have made my own which has come out quite well but if anyone knows of something better

Cheers.

Keep meaning to get myself one of these :)

Thanks guys, some neat ideas. I've just spent the last hour making my own version of Don Zeck's. Its come out pretty well. Quick to fit and secure. Cost £0.00

You can use a tupperware lid as a lens cap, seen it before when I had a Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS. What did you use?

I used a piece of high density foam cut to the inside diameter of the front of the lens glued to a circle of plywood. Only want it for when the lens is in my bag with the hood reversed.
