To all intents and purposes, 85mm is 135mm on a crop sensor! ;)

Well look what I started! I'm nowhere nearer to deciding on a lens either.
 
17-55IS as a general lens and an 85/1.8 for more portraity stuff

17-55 over tammy as the 7d really pushes glass, a 17-40L is great too and has weather sealing but the long end and the f4 make it less fun

85/1.8 is a real tight portrait lens on crop if you don't have much room I've got some stuff shot with one on a 7d knocking around if you want to see it
 
Space isn't an option, studio is a very good size.
The f/4 is going to be an issue, although with the 15mm f/2.8 I've got and 50mm f/1.8 that I'm buying will cover all apertures that I'm likely to need. Just need something to replace the kit lens I guess, a 17-50 or 17-55 is starting to make sense.

problem is the lack of decent wide angle primes for crop

Oops, brain is obviously not working today.

As for the prime thing, I'm not a massive fan, been thinking of replacing my 15mm with a 10-22 or 10-20 for a while.

30 1.4, 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 100 2.8
