Hello. I notice at race tracks a lot of people have these huge lenses and im aware they are very expensive. Im also aware that you don't need one of these as an every day photographer. I currently only have a 18-55mm lens which is ok in some parts of the track but not others (Oulton Park). Would it be possible for me to pick up a good enough lens for <£100 second hand to do the job and could someone please recommend me one to fit my canon 400d.

I dont have one of those bibs so I can't get real close to the track :( lol. Just to save me making another thread how do those photographers get the race track bibs enabling them to walk around wherever they want?

/Thanks

Under £100 - you would struggle.

For a bit over (£120-130) you can pick up the Canon 55-250mm IS which will give you a good bit of extra reach and reasonable image quality.

Those bibs are usually media vests. They get them by shooting for publications - so hard to get one unless you are there working.
