lens for my 40d

Right im after a new lens. Ive got a sigma 24-70mm 2.8 and then a canon 70-200mm lens. Now what im finding while im out and about i tend to need a bit more than 70mm when i have the sigma on and then when I have the canon I always need less. So was thinking about the

Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens

What do people think about this lens?

Im also looking to replace the 70-200mm canon with a L series f4 lens in the future
 
Sounds good, or you could go for the 15-85 if you are hovering around 60-80mm

Oh yeah never thought about 15-85mm. Does anybody have any views to this lens?
 
17-85 IS?

Or maybe the odd ball choice of a Sigma 17-70 if you can find a sharp copy.
 
I have used both the 15-85mm and the 17-85mm and love both. Think the 17-85mm is great value for money
 
I liking the canon 24-105 F4 lens. It is a bit more costly but im guessing it is better quality.
 
24-105 is a great lens there are loads of reviews out there on it. It is also a full frame lens which is nice if you think you might change up in the future.

Downside on crop body is 24mm is not very wide.

I'm thinking of getting one for my 50D as I too find my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 a bit short some times.
 
Also consider the Canon 18-135 IS.

Very versatile lens, love mine!
