Does anyone know of a place in the North Yorkshire region where I can hire a Nikon zoom lens for the weekend?

I need one at short notice because of photographing the Knaresborough Bed Race for one of the benefiting charities and my zoom has conked out on me :-/

Appreciate any responses.
 
TBH, the nearest one to you that I know of is Calumet in Manchester which would be a fair trek. Have you tried Lenses for Hire? When I was typing this reply their website stated that there was still a little over 4 hours left in which to hire a lens in time for the weekend so there may still be time to rent one from them for this weekend (assuming they have the lens you're looking for!) depending on when you see the reply.

I should add that I have used Lenses for Hire several times in the past and always found the service to be excellent. There are several threads regarding them in the Photo Shopping forum but I'm unsure whether you will be able to see them at this time due to your post count.

Or, the OP could simply contact them directly via the website, no need to be signed up on here to use them. I hired a lens long before I registered on here!

Just head to lensesforhire.co.uk, browse through the Nikon range and see if it's free on your dates using the availability charts. (Hint: green = plenty, yellow = very limited, red = all hired/reserved) If you give them a phone call they'll do their best to sort you out

chrismphotos - lensesforhire are still awesome, I just got my wires crossed with what Chris L had said!
(And I've never seen so many people called Chris in one short thread, it's awesome. People called Chris are underrated! :cool:)
