No
I have been reading up on lenses lately. what i would like opinion on an all round lens that will do everything from scenery/lanscape, portrait and zoom.

Is there a lens out there that can replace my 3 lens therefore no more fiddling to change the lens and missing the shot:cool:

In all seriousness, something like an 18-200 VR is the nearest you're going to get to an all-round lens.

How wide and how long do your current lenses actually go - and do you use the extremes often?

my lens start at 18mm and go to 300mm. i do alot of wildlife and motorsports , so i need the distance but i have also started doing portraits.

In answer to your question NO

Welcome to the world of single-lens reflex (SLR) camera's, unfortunately that lens doesn't exist, well they sort of do, like the suggested sigma 18-200mm, but these hyperzooms say they do everything, but are master of none.

You need a lens for landscapes (17-40mm f4)
A lens for portraits (85mm f2)
A lens for motorsport (300mm f4)
A lens for wildlife (400mm f5.6)

The SLR isn't like the bridge camera's with a lens with xx-xxx zoom, thats why there a large selection of lenses to choice from, each with specific jobs to do.

Cheers Pete.
looks like i am going to have started saving a little harder for the rest of the kit

Sorry for being blunt, but there are some great affordable lenses out there, especially primes for something like portrait photography that won't break the bank, but this 1 lens fits all doesn't exist. A 85mm f1.8 is less than £300 or the 50mm f1.4 just over £300 (if you have a cropped sensor camera).
