Wow that final one is simply a postcard waiting to be.... just perfect. Nice one.

Nice sharp images, not seen shots from Bolton Abbey Steam Railway before.

BR Standard Class 2 78019
====================
Built at Darlington works in March 1954 to a design of Robert Riddles, 78019 worked for some of its life as station Pilot at Euston station, amongst other allocations to sheds including Kirkby Stephen, Wigan Springs Branch and Crewe South.

great shots ,need to seen in mono as well

A really nice set of shots,the engine is not as old as you may think being a BR Standard class 2 and was built in the 1950's

That's very true and the tragedy of the "modernisation plan." What an utter waste of money, spend loads building new standard classes then scrap the lot with years of life left in them so you can spend another wodge on a hotchpotch of diseasels most of which were a mixed blessing at best..... and don't get me started on Doctor Richard Beeching!

Got to be said, number 3 is cracker, just had a look on web, its a BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 from the 1950's. Four left out of the original 65. Long live steam

very good pictures but like the colour ones rather than the black and white
