Hi all,

Thought it was about time to get a proper monitor instead if struggling with the laptop screen.

Seen this LG monitor in Currys: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/comput...-full-hd-23-ips-led-monitor-21324850-pdt.html

Seems like a bargain at under £130 - IPS, HDMI input etc.

As long as I get it calibrated will this do the job or should I be looking at other options (within that sort of price range)?

Cheers,

Danny.

I think it looks the part and sounds the part, no first hand experience though, it's definitely a looker and the specs tout it for it's true colour and such stuff, looks decent to me.

Thanks Ivan.

The saying 'buy cheap, buy twice' keeps running through my head but I honestly can't see anything to deter me from this.

Sorry this my not help, but I would suggest looking at the Dell ips range. For about £20 more you can pick up a Dell 23 inch ips.

I have the older 2209WA and am very happy with them, I use the spyder 3 pro to calibrate both.

Cheers Kev,

They look great but seem kinda hard to get hold of. Probably because, as you say, it's an older model.

The link you have supplied is currently down.

I have had a LG Flatron L225WS 22" monitor for approximately the last 6 years. When I bought this, it was one of the best flat screen monitors available at that time. I haven't had a single problem with this monitor since day of purchase, so if you are worried about quality, in my experience the LG has performed flawless since purchase.

Darn. Seems ok for me though Simon.

It's 129 quid in Currys so looks like a bargain. I've read a lot of crit about light bleed but apparently they will just swap it straight out if it's noticeable.

Think I'm gonna go for it.
