lighting stand or post and box

I was lucky to have a Canon 580ex flashgun and a separate flash receiver/trigger system bought for my Christmas box.
I know I can put the receiver on the base of the flash, away from the camera and put the trigger in the camera hot shoe.
What I am looking at doing is having the flash on a pole or stand and firing through a mesh of some kind.
Is there a stand or pole which will accept the receiver and flash mounted together and some form of soft box system?
I don't want to spend too much as a specialist system, mainly looking to see what, if anything can be done...
If members have used any system, can the flash stay on the receiver and still rotate/ tilt?

Paul, you've pretty much described most/all softbox mounting brackets.
You'll need a lightstand on which to mount the softbox

Light stands vary in price and quality.
Depending on your receiver system you'll need a flash bracket of some description, they start cheap but I'd recommend this type (great growing room), then you could simply use a shoot thru umbrella.

Or one of these softboxes which comes with the bracket I recommend, softboxes are more controllable than umbrellas

Thanks for the very prompt replies and informative links.
I'm erring at this time for the 40x40 cm Godox unit with the S-Type adapter.
Silly question perhaps, but is the stand/pole a standard diameter, or is there a specific one for the model?

40cm x 40cm will give you quite a harsh effect.

He's got a point, their sizings are all over the place. Unfortunately, the one linked there is anyone's guess. Look for the 80cm one (it's nowhere near 80cm in reality though, it's about 74cm

I also use the Godox S Type bracket bracket with my Yonguuo flash and triggers. Godox S Type Bracket.
The difference with this is that it hold the flashgun by clamping the flash head. The Godox S Type Bracket definitely feels more secure in use than the conventional brackets which hold the Flashgun\trigger combo using the hot shoe.

On @Phil V reccomendation in an older post I bought the 80 x80 as in his post. Used it lots works for me at home.

I also use these brackets. I have 3 Nikon SB-800's and with their 5th battery compartment added in to their weight there is a definite feel that a hotshoe fitting is too minimal and at risk of damage. One of my better purchases thanks to the advice on this forum.

+1 for the Godox 80 x 80ish. Anything less would be a compromise too far, for most jobs IMHO.

Stand wise, I like the Calumet Heavy Duties, and all coupled to transmitters where appropriate. A great lighting set up.

The Godox S bracket works well due to its grip system. (I managed to snap a Nikon Speedlight foot once and the repair by the manufacturer was not cheap).

Exactly the reason I went for the S Bracket, I even have a £25 manfrotto speedlight stand holder that is redundant due to my fear of putting a flash on a small footplate.
