Hi all,

Ages ago I bought a naff studio kit off ebay with two stands included. They were good at the time but I am noticing more they aren't exactly up to the task.

I don't use them all the time but want something a bit more trust worthy when I do need them. Can anyone recommend stands that can be bought max £70 for 2? Seen a few from the likes of k&f concepts but no clue if they're any better than what I have.

The stands you have are about a tenner each, depending on your intended use, I’d recommend Lencarta’s standard stands which are great value at about £25 each, I also have an auto retractable stand from Essential which is great for carrying about with a light attached.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as a single light stand that does everything.
Sometimes we need something that goes really low, like this one https://www.lencarta.com/combined-floor-low-level-stand-lencarta-sta013
Sometimes a 2m or thereabouts stand is a good choice, like this one https://www.lencarta.com/all-produc...ht-patented-light-stand-lencarta-190cm-sta107
And sometimes you may need something larger and more stable, it depends on the usage, the weight it needs to hold safely. This is one of the very best https://www.lencarta.com/all-produc...eumatic-air-light-stand-lencarta-265cm-sta012

Personally I always steer clear of cheapies, they'e always cheap for a reason.

I have the Calumet tall light stand,

Not sure if they are better or worse than Lencarta, you could always go into a Wex store and have a look.
