Lightroom doing strange things.

This weekend I have upgraded my main PC, All my images are stored on a seperate usb external drive. Installed lightroom as on old machine (same 2.2 version) and located .lrcat files of my catalogues, all images show and are editable (no ?'s as per missing files), but when I come to export then it say it is unable to find the file, despite being able to show it in explorer and edit the file.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR someone please help before I have a micheal douglas moment.

Have you done all the normal stuff like relaunching and optimising the catalog?

Did all that, even a reinstall, but nothing. It even happen with a new set of images in a new catalogue I created. Was just about to go a little bit mental over it, when I decided to recheck all export settings. Everthing was spot on except for one little tiny item.
I had asked the my old machine to export using custom colour ICC profile, having copied over the preferrences from old machine to new it was still trying to use that ICC profile but it wasn't installed. Hence it kept falling over. Installed the profile, normal service resumed. Phew...
