Hi,

Just purchased a new external HD for my photos (which are flooding my laptop's internal disk!)

I was hoping someone could tell me the easiest way to transfer my RAWs to the external drive and still see/edit them in Lightroom when I plug the drive in. I tried something similar with my iTunes library and my music-listening experience has never been quite the same since. :gag:

Any takers?

Copy/move the raw files across, run LR and when it complains it can't find the files right click on the folder and select "locate missing files" and point it at the new place...
 
i think id do it in lightroom in the first place.
just use the folders panel, and drag your pics folder to the new drive. all in lightroom.
 
You'd need to add the folder in LR before you can drag the existing ones somewhere :thumbs:
