Lightroom query - exporting a list of folders that make up a catalogue

Hello all.

Somewhat obscure question.

I've now got a number of lightroom catalogues, and to help find images I want to create a list of what folders are in each lightroom catalogue.

Does anyone know of an easy way to do this?

Within each catalogue the folders are in a relatively easy to follow hierarchical structure - yyyy / yyyy-mm-dd - shoot description /

Any reason why you have multiple catalogs?

Surely the whole point of LR is to manage you images so that you can find them quickly and easily. By having multiple catalogs surely you are defeating the object.

I think any potential speed boost is negated if you then need to hunt through various catalogues for the correct image. I have used separate catalogues in the past, e.g. shots for a particular client, so that way it is obvious which catalogue I need to search in.

An alternative would be to have an "archive" catalogue, where you collate all of your catalogues when you have finished the main Lightroom work on them and speed is less important.

Anyway, answering my own questions. I've found two plug-ins which may do the task that I want to do.

I'll give them a go.

Ultimately it may be quicker and easier just to make a list manually.
