Link Delight D700/D300 grip

Well it still hasn't arrived and they still haven't confirmed it has even been sent. They crafty gits kept the whole process dragged out so long that I will not even be able to leave negative feedback. I am really getting annoyed with them now.

Sorry to hear about your predicament on this. I've dealt with them a number of times, and have even recommended them to a few others who have been happy with them.

On one instance I received a shattered GGS screen protector for my D700, I emailed them and all they asked for was a picture of the package showing it to be shattered; upon which they happily & promptly sent me a new one. Of course, it wouldn't possible to send them a picture to prove the faulty power grip!

By following this thread I see that they do seem to know the ins and outs of ebay trading, seeing that they've dragged this issue of yours long such that you can't leave an honest feedback ! That's a pitty really, I'd sure think twice before dealing with them again!

Good that you didn't close the dispute.

I hope this is resolved pretty soon now.

Well a bit of an update.

I eventually received an email from Link Delight saying that they had received the faulty one so I contacted paypal with this info!! Now there was proof that link delight had the faulty one back they had to send a replacement or paypal would refund me.

Link delight then sent an email saying that they were out of stock so I went to there web site and found that they were saying they had plenty in stock. I then sent them another telling them this!

This morning I have had another email from them saying that they have now got some in stock and will send the item to me in 24/48 hours so I should get the item before the end of March or about 15 weeks after order! That's longer than my new car is taking

That's longer than my new car is taking

They heard you are a patient man:)

Item STILL not arrived and Paypal have CLOSED the dispute because I did not get a tracking number even though they have emailed Link Delight and they have not responded to them!

BUYERS beware!!!

Make sure you get a tracking number and leave feedback in the time when buying off this lot. Looks like it just cost me £63 for 2 batteries and a BL3 convertor which I can't use without the grip anyway.

I think you may just be unlucky I have used LD for about 3 years now and never a problem just received an order today 25/03 that I placed on the 21/03 and will cary on useing them.

I would have said the same had the item worked!

The problem is that they know how to play the system. They dragged out the return etc so long that I could not leave negative feedback, they told me to send the item back using air mail and get a certificate of posting which I did etc etc. They have confirmed to me that the item arrived but wouldn't confirm it to paypal etc etc.

Basically I am just warning people that IF they get a faulty one they should make sure they send it back with a tracking number even if link delight say don't send it that way (which they did).

I was thinking of buying another one and leaving neg feedback on that one instead saying "had to buy two to get one!" etc...

The item itself seemed pretty good if it had worked.

Update....

I joined an online review site that seems really rather good, it is called TRUSTPILOT. What happens is that you review companies that you have done business with and point to their web site. Trustpilot then forwards the review to the company and basically your dirty washing is hung out in public but the company have nowhere to hide. I received an email from Link Delight this morning saying that they were sending the grip out to me shortly........

I hope this is the case as there are a number of items I would like to buy from them and their stuff seems of really nice standard and, yes, I was unlucky to get a faulty one. I have quite rightly been annoyed at the length of time this has taken as it is now exactly 3 calendar months but hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Hope this works out for you mate, i've used LD on a number of occasions with no problems, albeit for small items, but i have always found them to be good with fairly quick delivery, and like you say they have a number of bits which i would also like to get, my last buy was a couple of stands for SB900,s which where about a fiver for the 2 delivered, and no different to the Nikon ones at about £11 each.

Guess what arrived this morning?

No?

Meike battery grip from Link Delight and it works!

so only took 105 days since payment

Will try it out later properly but it does work.

:D glad it worked out eventually.... sucks that it took so long lol

enjoy 8fps ;)

i bough a grip with 2 batteries for my a350, no faults with the grip, only minor problem was one battery took considerably longer to charge than the other, the buttons can be activated/deactivated by the on/off switch, maybe you should spend a bit longer tinkering with that, than having to pay for postage.

Glad to hear you have finally got it sorted Darren. I have been using LD for a few years now and always had great service, so its never good when there are problems that don't get resolved quickly.
FWIW, I also have the grip, quite useful that it fits both bodies and as it was for occasional use rather than all the time, it made sense over the Nikon Equivalent. So far so good, works very well on both bodies, so do enjoy it now you finally have it

eh? Are you suggesting that I returned a perfectly good grip that miraculously developed the fault that I imagined whilst on route to China prior to them finding said fault when it arrived?

no you probably read the thread and realised that I checked it.

Yvonne, I'm still using a D200 as my second body. To be honest I couldn't justify the extra and I have a genuine Nikon grip for the D200 anyway. I use the D200 at work regularly and it is ideal so I have a grip for both of them.

I have seen a few things that LD have for sale which I fancy. The charger that charges ELEN4a and ENEL3 batteries would be on my shopping list if it did not cost £50 although if it came with an ELEN4a I might change my mind.

Well i've had a play and it all works just as expected (unlike the first one). Just stuck 8 eneloops in it and selected continuous high speed..... 8fps bloooomin heck whats that all about? It soon fills the cache on the camera using RAW!

It feels much better in the hands and very much better when taking shots in portrait mode. I missed this having previously had a D1x and a D200 with grip. So very happy and would buy another if I ever upgrade the D200 to a D300/D300s/D400??

Thanks for your support everyone.

hey. sorry to dig this thread up but did link delight give you any coupons for discounts on subsequent purchases or any sort of compensation for your shipping cost?

No they didn't but they did send a complete package to me when I only sent the grip and standard battery holder. So I ended up with a second AA battery holder and a second BL-3. I sold the BL-3 to cover the postage :)
