Linking flickr images to post

I have been trying to link my pics from Flickr into some of my post, but it doesnt seem to work, I have seen others doing it though.

I know that on my flickr page it gives me the HTML for linking to the image and I have tried that.

E.G
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/3down/3741008550/" title="_EDD0331 by 3down, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3510/3741008550_0e40a6740c.jpg" width="500" height="408" alt="_EDD0331" /></a>

and nothing.

So I have been doing it by linking the address of the image.

any help on achieving this?

Instead of using the <a href code, use the other one (below it on the Flickr page) and then click on the wee photo image (2nd from right on the Quick Reply panel) paste the code into the box (in the case of your example the code you would paste ito the box is http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3510/3741008550_0e40a6740c.jpg) then hit OK.....Job done

Thats what I normally do but that doesnt make the image clickable

if you want the link back to flickr, transplant the html tags for bb code

[ and url= instead of < and a href=

[ and img= instead of < and img src=

to make it clickable the quickest way is to do as above and once you have clicked OK highlight all the code now in your post and click the wee globe icon and copy this part of the code(http://www.flickr.com/photos/3down/3741008550/) into that and hit OK again...

Its a right royal PITA - what they say above is correct. People have been asking Flickr for the BBCode to be automatically generated for ages, but the requests seem to fall on deaf ears.

There's a Greasemonkey script for Firefox called "All sizes" that gives you the necessary BBCode with a single click and copies to the clipboard with another.

Yup - that works

I really recommend you have a look at Greasemonkey. I use it mostly for Flickr but it can do some really powerful things that make your life just that little bit less stressful ;-)

Have a search around and look at what scripts are available.

You can run the html code through this:

http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/html2bbcode/

It converts it to BBCode which you can then cut and paste directly into TP

This also means you stick with the Flickr ToS that you should link back when using the image.

I wish there was something like this for Photoshelter, it is great for embedding into blogs, but doesn't really work for forums.
