Been Practising Macro with D7000.
I am a complete beginner so have a lot to learn. so Please excuse me if this is a stupid qeustion.
Anyway, never really used the Live View before, but I can only really get a clear picture when in Auto.
When I have it in A OR M when shooting in Macro the picture is very dark, even trying different settings, apperture, iso, ect.
What am I doing wrong??
Thanks Kevin.

When you say you can only get a "clear" picture in Auto, do you mean "properly exposed"?

What happens if you take a picture in Auto, look at the settings the camera used, and use the same settings yourself in M mode? Does that work?

On the D7000, when in manual, the Live View will use whatever aperture was set before entering Live View. Changing aperture IN Live View will do nothing until the shot is fired. Set the correct shutter speed, Aperture and ISO BEFORE you go into Live View.

It's one of the things I hated about the D7000, and I still hate on the D600/610.

I tried all settings before I went in but still the same. even same settings that were in Auto.

In that case I think you need to show us some photos, with Exif data intact. Either your camera is malfunctioning, or you're not find what you say you're doing.

Thanks Everyone.
I put my camera back to Factory Reset, and all is well now:) must have set somthing wrong along the way.
Thanks Again.
