I'm in Llandudno next week and wondered if anyone could give me any tips on good photo locations I could visit and not too far away

Don't have any particular subject-matter in mind and am just open to suggestions, not being too famliar with the area myself!

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,
Steve

the copper mine is worth a visit on the great orme, there is a little shop on the pier that sells some nice images of Llandudno good for a bit of insperation i fancied doing some night shot's across the front but weather was shocking last time we were there ,getting in the car and doing a few miles there are plenty of things to see ,http://www.chester360.co.uk/north-wales.htm ,it'll probably be raining so the weatherspoons is not a bad place to spend a few hours and try a fireball cinnamon whiskey with applejuice

The one place you don't want to miss is a trip up the GREAT ORME. There's a tramway that goes up to the top where there's a pub, shops etc. The view from up there on a fine day is tremendous with views for miles on all sides of you. I wish I'd have took a map up with me to have an idea of the different places that I could see. I got some pictures of Rhyl from up there which is miles away. You'll also get some good views back down into Llandudno. There's also plenty of castles around the Llandudno area.

There's Conway Castle which is worth a visit, and a National Trust estate/garden whose name escapes me ( is it Bodnant ?) which has lots of photo oportunities. I found the walk up the Great Orme not too taxing ( at 69) but I suppose you might get some good pics from the railway. The cable cars weren't working when I was there, soneting to do with health & safety.

Alongside the eastern side of the pier, there's a nice long and narrow wooden jetty that along with the stony beach make for great long exposure shots when it's quiet in the evening and the tide's in.

Ken, you're right, it's Bodnant Gardens (on the A470, just south of the A55 jn19).
