A local buisness has asked to use some of my London eye and Tower bridge photos in their tour brochure. I know that you cannot use images of Trafalgar square but what about the afore mentioned sites? If this is in the wrong section please move thanks.

Not sure about tower bridge, but London Eye certainly have quite form rules which last time I found them were along the lines of 'images specifically of the London eye may not be used commercially with correct permission/licencing, however, where the Eye is merely a background feature of an image of something else, that is ok' - I am off out in about 2 mins, so not got time to look for the exact wording, but try a google search... it might even be in the T&C's on their website. ;)

I seem to remember that the images can't be taken from their property, if they are taken from elsewhere they may be alright, check though.

London Eye - you clearly didn't get a picture using a DSLR 'on their ground' - cos you would have been chased off by their goons.

London Eye ground covers South Bank from Sea Life entrance in County Hall building to about 50 yards other side of Eye - and the tree lined pathway down towards the road.

Technically, any picture taken here belongs to the London Eye - but if it's being used a for a tourist brochure it would be a bit self defeating, and i doubt you're going to get a new D4 or 1Dx out of it!

So i say take the money and run!

I used mine right next to the London eye and all along the south bank as did a fair few others on more than on occasion.
But do you home work or it could cost you

Only if you try and get your tripod out, or generally cause a nuisance...I have used a pro body and fat lens plenty of times with no problems. They can occasionally get stroppy, but don't normally bother unless you are causing an obstruction when its really busy, or they are in a particularly bad mood.

an interesting link...

...might be worth asking if the guy wants to use them to help promote tourism and visitors to the eye
