Looking for a decent used landscape lens

Not an L lens or something silly.Recommendations anyone?For a Canon.
And about how much would you expect to pay?My 18-55 kit lens doesn't seem to capture enough width or detail.

Sigma 15-30mm. Might not be wide enough on a crop body though. I've heard good things about the Sigma 10-20mm though.
 
What's your budget? If you want wider, it's costs £xxx!

The Sigma for around £300 is probabley the best deal you'll get, the Canon 10-22 has a little more range and slightly better image quality but you'll struggle to get it for under £450 used.
 
Have a look at samyang 14/2.8 - it's about £250 new. Incredibly sharp corner to corner, high contrast, vivid colors and low CA. It's manual, but for lens this wide MF is not a problem at all. And it's FF compatible. It's the only weakness is distortion, but it's very easy to correct without significant resolution loss.

I wouldnt recommend a UWA purely for landscape work. It's actually very hard to do, as you have such a large area to fill, you really need to be close to a subject of interest as all you find you'll get is a large expanse of ground and not much else! They are hard to use properly.

I tend to use my 35mm more and more or landscape work.
 
I suppose I really want one that's good for lanscapes and close ups too.Is that possible?Go easy, I'm a beginner :)

It's purely a matter of personal preference. For some people landscape lens is 600mm, for other - 14mm is way too narrow.
 
I just got a Tokina 12-24 from here about 10 days ago, have to say I love it, so far it's hardly left the camera on holiday.
