I have been looking at these so far..

Fujifilm FinePix F600EXR
Canon PowerShot SX230 HS

Both look very capable..

I can recommend the Sony DSC-HX9V, nice build quality and pictures. Around £190 after Sony £40 cashback, as seen on a website named after a long Brazilian river.
