Hi all,

I am looking for a second lens for my D90. I currently have the 18-105 and I'm pretty happy with that.

I am thinking about a wide angle lens and considering the Tonika 11-16 or 12-24.

Any thoughts?

Mainly taking street photography and family portraits.

How about the Sigma 10-20mm??

I have one and love it.

I don't think that a wide lens would be my first choice for street photography and family portraits. I think that you are going to have to be very careful with perspective and keeping your camera level otherwise you may get some very artistic effects :) but that might be what you're aiming for?

I'm a big fan of my Sigma 12-24mm and it's by far my most used zoom but for your stated photographic needs this sort of lens might not be right.

How about a nice fast prime? Something between 20 and 85mm depending upon what distance you like to shoot from and how you like to frame.

Portraits would be a 50mm or a 85mm prime, depending on what space you will be working in. A tight room and the 50mm can be too long but often I find that 85mm would be perfect for head pic. 85mm would be good for street stuff too (I assume you mean people not buildings).
