i dont know if i can really be doing with all the controls on light room...but if i did get it i perhaps would learn a bit
i am having a 30 day trial

ps...from a 12 Mp camera the final images are coming out smaller than direct via photoshop etc

What is different from Lr to Ps? Shooting RAW Lr is so much easier!

Also you say you are getting smaller images? Are you exporting in the same way?

i am exporting using the Lr 'export to a folder' click

am i ok doing that.. yes i will look at the youtube instruction

the banding is obviously where i am going into the silly reason
 
When you export the file, you are perhaps compressing it too much? The compression (quality) setting will reduce the file size.

Setting the pixels (and/or ppi) will resize the number of pixels in the image which can also affect file size. Cropping does that.

didnt look for the slider so wasnt exporting at 100% jpeg:bang:
