Lumix G3 announced

I don't think so, I think it looks ok and that it'll sell very well and should also go even further to prove wrong those who say that these cameras are slow and have poor low light performance.

Pity they got rid of the grip.... and the external mic socket
 
To be honest I think I'd prefer that to the G2 style finger grip.
The grip on the G2 is just too small to curl my fingers round properly, so something like this actually works better for me.

I always thought that about the GH1 grip, but with the 14-45 on, I can balance the camera with my fingertips under the grip and often carry it around that way.

I quite like the styling of the G3, I like it's new boosted performance, butI'm not sure I like losing all my lovely manual levers and dials to a touchscreen.

Same here I love those dials, they will be sorely missed
 
There doesn't look to be much missing to me.

From the back and top everything looks to be there, pretty much like my GF1 with ISO, WB, PASM, all there, and changing the aperture and shutter speed look to be as per GF1 too. All else could be said to be fluff.
 
Looks pretty good to me. If it's got the AF performance for aviation, ie tracking planes when they are landing and such like then I might be very very tempted to bag one. At £650 it's not too overpriced imo.
