No
put my Honda CRV through the M.O.T last year at my local ATS which have since stopped trading , it passed with a advisory of serious problem with the brakes need attention a.s.a.p , well I took it to my local Honda specialist and they found nothing wrong all working as specified .nothing done .
now today a year and a good few thousand miles later I put it in for its m.o.t again at a local garage and low and behold I just picked it up ,passed with flying colours and no advisories at all .

"serious problem with the brakes" and "advisory" aren't really thing that go together.
Precisely which is why the car went to a honda specialist garage the next day , and as stated found nothing amiss , and now a year later with no work being done it flew through a new mot centre this morning .we were quiet prepared to have brakes and discs replaced if it had failed … my only assumption being that last years garage was looking for work that wasn’t needed ..
And I have in the course of the 12 months towed our touring caravan twice with no problems either .

It’s a 2015 one , had a 2008 before .. there very solid cars , quite a lot of mki models still around ..with reports of original engines doing a million miles .
PS if your in the north west I have a superb Honda service garage that’s far far cheaper than main dealers prices , and they only do Honda

My dad has a 2008 CRV EX with the 2.2 diesel that used to be mine and it still flies through its MOT's. The engine is a little noiser from the outside and the first time it broke down was just recently when a fuse blew, but it's been fine since. Great cars.

I later got a 4th Gen one, petrol but with the auto. Not so happy, the combination of having no forced induction and the old tech auto box made it gutless on the motorway. I believe the manual version is better but never tried it myself. My best Honda was the 7th Gen Accord with the highly regarded 2.4 petrol. Forget bullet proof, that thing was nuke proof.

Ahh okay, you have the newer model. I am lucky that my brother is a mechanic and my dad has a good contact who looks after my car. Thank you
