Macro Close Up Filter Kits

Hi, I'm looking to get one of the above kits so that I can try my hand at macro photography. I realise the kit won't produce the same level of image quality as a dedicated macro pens but thought they would be a good starting point.

As I've got no experience in this sort of thing, can anyone point me towards a decent kit?

Any other pointers and things to consider would be gratefully received.

Rather than get a kit of filters you might be better with either a set of extension tubes on a short prime or something like a Raynox 250. I bought a Raynox DCR-250 late last year, it was only about £40 which isn't much more than a good set of filters lenses, and it's much better than a set of filters and can fit on most lenses without a problem.

I did get a cheap filter kit as a free gift when I first got my first dslr, a 550D, and I used it quite a bit with the kit 18-55 and got some decent shots, and it really got me interested in macro shooting, but it wasn't until I bought a dedicated macro lens that I was really pleased with the results. If I'd bought a Raynox back then I think that would of been a great, cheapish way of getting some good macro shots without spending hundreds of pounds on a dedicated macro lens.
