Macro lens for FF?

I am considering adding a macro lens to my box.

It would seem I am spoilt for choice.
Nikon 60mm
nikon 105 VR
sigma 105, 150 or 180


what do you macro shooters recommend, its also going to be my only prime, so may use it for portraits.

I'll be using it on my D700 with a variety of speedlights & studio lights

Budget is around the £500 mark ( is the VR worth the extra?)

It all depends on what you plan to shoot!

If flowers, the 60mm / 105 would be fine .. bugs and things that move, the longer focal lengths would be best.

None of them.
I would go for the Tamron 90 - probably one of the best macro lenses on the market.

One of the 90 / 105 mm lenses.....ideally the Nikon, its a superb lens....just got mine a couple of weeks ago and I love it.
