Taken on Hallowe'en, over at Draycote Water. Had hoped that the black redstart seen the day before would hang around, but it didn't. This made up for it though - such a fine looking bird.

Taken with a Canon 50D and 100-400mm L lens.

I think he's trying to use the Force on the lower shot... :)

Splendid shots, #1 does it for me what wi the bird's pose and the composition you did on the capture (y)

No.1 for me, like the way the wall colour compliments the subject:clap:

Two very good shots, but I'd rate No1 as the better.

Two lovely images DP, I also prefer the first but have you tried the second as a portrait shot.

Excellent shots.........and I can see why the Black Redstart wouldn't be around:)

Cheers folks - my favourite is the first one, by some margin. Lammie - the 2nd one was one of those shots where it didn't quite look right cropping to a portrait or a landscape shot.

Draycote is a good spot if you want kestrel shots.

The first one is very good.I love the colours on these birds and you have captured it very well. I also like the colours of the lichen on the stone......(y)

Lovely!!! Love the colours, he blends well with the rocks.
