Male Kestrel

Taken on Hallowe'en, over at Draycote Water. Had hoped that the black redstart seen the day before would hang around, but it didn't. This made up for it though - such a fine looking bird.

Taken with a Canon 50D and 100-400mm L lens.

I think he's trying to use the Force on the lower shot...

Cheers folks - my favourite is the first one, by some margin. Lammie - the 2nd one was one of those shots where it didn't quite look right cropping to a portrait or a landscape shot.

Draycote is a good spot if you want kestrel shots.

Theres some beautiful light picking up its colours & detail in the back feathers

The first one is very good.I love the colours on these birds and you have captured it very well. I also like the colours of the lichen on the stone......
