Has anyone got any experience of this?

I have been asked to take some pictures in one of the temples of a few Masons.

I just want to know if anyone has done it and what sort of shots they got?

Many thanks,

Barry

no real difference to any indoor photography Barry, also depends on the size of the temple, some are tiny and shome are huge, usually shots will be taken round the masters chair so a couple of wireless speedlites with either softboxes or umbrellas would suffice, even a single softbox/speedlite would do depending on the numbers involved, is it just for a few officers or is it a group pic for the whole lodge

If you dont have facility for ocf then for small numbers bounced flash will probably give you good enough results

It's just WM and officers I think, so I use a bouncy flash.

Really helpful, thanks.

did some for my dad - they chased a goat around the alter then slaughtered it in the name of god and feasted on its meat.

no wait thats what he used to tell me they did lol

was just some portaits and some stills of what happens but not during the actual service. there was nothing secret about it

Did you have to roll a trouser leg up?

I thought it might have got a laugh?

I tell my patients to do that when I'm at work lol
If I'm questioned I say "it's so we know who's triaged"

I quite like this goat thing, it's a good rumour

The shots will be pre or post service, so hopefully I will have some time to think about it while I am there. Just need a camera that handle low light and I'll be sorted. I think I am going to rent a D3 or something, I'll need the higher iso range I think - quite dark in the temple.

Direct Lighting do rental on a D3 for £100 I think - is that reasonable for a days hire?

Does a D3 cost £35k? I ask because for £100 you could rent a Merc for the day! Slightly different market, but I think that sound a lot, but I used to rent cars!.

What about doing some nice HDR for them? they are stunning in the right situations

It's a secret!.........

Yes and if you tell then you'll have your throat cut across, your tongue torn out by the roots, and your body buried in the rough sands of the sea at low-water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-four hours.

Makes a change from stop and search I suppose...
