hey guys...As an archaeologist, I want a portable mast photography setup that I can take into the field without the need for a vehicle...I will be purchasing a 2 piece mast, but at the moment I have been given a 1 piece windsurfing mast for free, so cant sniff at that!!...THis is a venture I am putting my own cash into, just to see where it can go for not to much money, and whether the results are acceptable for report production...
I am sure it will seem a bit noddy, bu so far I have decided to use:
The mast (4.65m tall), which I am supporting myself, against my foot and with locked arms
A Fuji S9500 slr digital camera, as it has mini-b usb and AV out (borrowing one from a friend at the moment
A Fujifilm RR-80 compatible Infrared Wireless Switch
A cable from the AV out on the camera, running down the inside of the mast, which will come out at eye level....where it will attach to a small 12V screen, via the AV-in plug.
height is a little bit of an issue...thinking of putting a 3 metre extension on it...as I want to be able to get vertical shot of an 8 metre roundhouse...I know I could get a fisheye, but wouldnt that effect the quality of image, and the cost of the set up quite considerably!!
Does anyone know of a very cheap small screen which I could use that has AV-in?...I was wondering if old sat nav screens might have?...
If anyone happens to have a fiju finepix S9500 that they would like to sell, or something similar that would have the same features etc, I would be very interested in knowing more!
