Memory card options

Hi
I'm looking at getting some new memory cards, I can get a Sandisk extreme 60mb/s 8gb for £35 or get a 16gb for £62.
Now I know that price wise the seond one would be better but I was wondering if performance wise smaller card would do better? Or any other considerations between the two.

By the way I already have an 8gb fujifilm card.

I doubt there would be any performance difference between the two.

I would go for the 8gb....The more data/pics you have on the card, the more you could potentially lose. It'd be better to go for 2 x 8GB ones....

I use 16Gb cards mostly - I'm more likely to lose a loose card in my pocket than the card is to lose data!

The card size has no relationship to its speed. FYI I only used 8gb cards for same reason Vishal gave.

Please be careful where you get your're new cards as places like ebay are awash with counterfeits and fakes.

Best to buy from places like 7DS, My Memory, Amazon/Play - not the marketplaces though....I'd avoid fleabay....

If you look back on this site a few years ago, it was 'can you imagine losing 2GBs of images in one go, best stick with the 1GB cards'!

Thanks everyone, Ya I'm looking at amazon actually.
I see the point with losing data, ive never had this problem but I guess if I'm shooting and a memory stops working for any reason I can switch to another one. I usually have my mac book pro with me and back up data on it.
